Q. What is Aerocon block?
Answer
Manufacturers of low weight blocks go by the name Aerocon. These are technically AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks, which are sold in an assortment of sizes. Such blocks stand out for their strength while being very light in weight. Because it is factory-made, the form and size are ideal, requiring relatively little cement for joints. The joints may only be 3 to 5 mm thick. Additionally, plastering is not always necessary; one may just use putty and paint instead. Commercially accessible light weight blocks (bricks) using a distinct production process are referred to as CLC (cellular light weight concrete). However, AAC is a more preferred option among builders.
