Q. Which is a stronger polyester thread or cotton thread?
Answer
Without a doubt a polyester thread is much stronger than a cotton thread. A polyester thread is a synthetically manufactured thread. Polyester threads often have a little gloss but cotton threads typically have a matte feel. While stitching cotton threads will create some lint however polyester threads don't. Polyester works better for quilting than cotton when it comes to piecing. Polyester won't shrink but cotton will.
