Earthing Resistors

When used in AC distribution network the resistor limits the restricted earth current to a safe value. This restricted current flows from the generator or transformer star point in the event of an earth fault in the system without crossing the specified temperature limits. The earthing resistor is connected in the middle of neutral position of a generator and earth or transformer and earth.
