The electrode deposits a weld metal with extremely high resistance to abrasion and heavy impact loads in both wet and dry conditions The weld metal hardness in the welded conditions is -60HRCApplication : SUGARARC-120 has been specifically designed for use in the Sugar Mill industry for the facing of cane knives Fiberizer Hammers and shredder hammers. It can however be used in a variety of application which include the facing of excavator bucket lips teeth drag line buckets. Screw conveyors rock chutes trash plate and scrapper plate teeth etc.Welding Procedure : No preheating is required. The amperage should be kept as low as possible to obtain a satisfactory bead profile. Two layers are normally sufficient although a maximum three layers can be applied. In case of repair of the old deposits a butter layer of medium hard electrode (Rs 25 to Rs 35) which is having high impact resistant properly should be applied before SUGARARC-100. This procedure is also recommended for the overlaying of new cane cutting knives and hammers. Relief checking is normal but can be aggravated by using low current and high travel speeds.
