Fsh Injections

COMPOSITION 
Ampoules of FOLLIOVA contain Urofollitropin (FSH)
as a white freeze dried sterile and pyrogen free
powder. 

DESCRIPTION: 
In the female, treatment with FSH stimulates
the ovarian
follicular growth and maturation, and therefore the estrogen secretion.
FOLLIOVA (FSH) corresponds to Urofollitropin, a hormone obtained from
human menopausal urine, having only FSH activity. In patients showing
normal or high LH levels, selective FSH deficiencies require availability
of preparations without LH activity, this characteristic belongs to FSH.
In the male, treatment with FSH increases the spermatogenesis function
without affecting the Leydig apparatus or stimulating testosterone secretion.

INDICATIONS:

Induction of ovulation in patients with polycystic
ovarian syndromeAmenorrhoea or anovulatory conditionsInfertility states due to hormonal imbalance as a
result of elevated LH/FSH ratio.





 MECHANISM OF ACTION:
In Females:
Triggers egg maturation in graafian follicle
In Males:
Stimulates Sperm production (with LH)
DOSAGE:
 
Treatment with FSH may
vary according to the individual response. Administer 1-2 ampoules per
day till estrogen levels are indicative of follicular maturation.

(75-150 I.U. of Urofollitropin) and monitor estradiol levels to be maintained
exceeding ( 200-600 pg/ml of plasma).

Generally FOLLIOVA treatment cycles should last 8-10 days. To induce
ovulation inject 5000-10000 I.U. hCG (PUBERGEN) one day after terminating
treatment with FOLLIOVA or follicular size >18 mm.
METHOD OF USE:

FOLLIOVA should be administered only by
intramuscular injection. The freeze-dried product
should be reconstituted immediately prior to use with
the solvent provided.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Pre-existing hypersensitivity,
pituitary tumors, ovarian tumors, pregnancy. STORAGE:
To be stored under refrigeration between 20C to 80C.
Do not freeze.

Box containing 1 ampoule
of freeze-dried product (75 I.U. of Urofollitropin) + 1 ampoule of solvent.
