Hyoscine is extracted from the leaves of the Duboisia tree found mainly in Australia and further reaction convert it into Hyoscine N-butyl bromide. Duboisia (Corkwood Tree) is a genus of small perennial shrubs to trees about 14 m tall, with extremely light wood and a thick corky bark. There are four species; all occur in Australia, and one also occurs in New Caledonia. It has alternate, smooth, entire leaves, narrowed into a short leaf-stalk, which is articulated to the branches.
