While HV switching has obvious advantages, the fact is that in many applications the switching facility is rarely used, during the lifetime of the unit. The CG MiniSub keeps the cost and size down by not having these rarely used HV switching facilities. HV isolation can be achieved by withdrawing the HV fuses while the unit is de-energised. Temporary generation can be connected via the LV distribution unit.
