A built-in decoder can decode an MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC Full High definition and SD programs can also be decoded for analog, SDI, HDMI output. The IRD comes with RF, ASI, and MPEG over IP (MPEGoIP) input combined with a high-quality SDI or HD-SDI, HDMI output and MPEGoIP/ASI output.

The two CAMs/CIs accompanied and BISS modules can descramble the programs input from encrypted RF, ASI and IP.
