The carbon paper/cloth electrode backing that lies between the membrane and the graphite plate has multiple uses in the fuel cell single cell / stack. The carbon paper and carbon cloth can be supplied in either PTFE pretreated or untreated form. The pretreated material is hydrophobic and can be directly used for electrode manufacturing. The hydrophobic treated cloth available in the range 5 to 35%.
