These tablets are mixture of two active substances, Telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide in one tablet. These substances help to manage high blood pressure. Telmisartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. The Angiotensin-II is a substance made in your body which help your blood vessels to narrow and increasing your blood pressure. Telmisartan drug blocks the effect of angiotensin II so that the blood vessels are relaxed and lowered your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a class of drugs called thiazide diuretics, which increase your urine frequency, which leads to low blood pressure. There are no symptoms of high blood pressure but if it left untreated then it can damage blood vessels of several organs, which may cause heart attack, heart or kidney failure, stroke, or blindness.
